The manual and PAR.doc does not explain how to use a PAR animation as a
sequence image map correctly. Not that it surprise's me as alot of important
pieces of information are missing from the docs. Here are the steps you must
take. This is for PAR version 2.5 the latest one.
1. Launch PAR.
2. Select the Import/Export button under the AmigaDOS files window.
3. Slect the Translate Off button wich will toggle it to Translate On (This
much is explained in the PAR.doc)
4. Launch LW.
5. Select Images button from the top of the Layout screen. In the Images
screen select the Load Sequence button.
6. Hit the backspace key to clear the current directory and type "DDR:", the
default drive name of the PAR main drive. Hit the enter key and all the
project directorys should be seen.
7. Select the dir where the PAR animation is.
8. In the filename space you shold see the PAR animation name. Append a "."
to the end of it's name and them the nuber "0". Hit enter.
Thats it. The reason for the period and zero is LW is looking for a file name
followed by three digits in sequnce. The PAR animation will translate with
the name followed by a period and then four digits. So you have to enter the
name plus extra info to leave only the last three digits for LW to get. The
rest is done by the PAR software which althogh is badly explained does this
great translation of file format. The only problem I have not had would be if
the sequence was of a animation wtih more than 999 frames. But I think that
would be a problem with LW not the PAR since it is only looking for three
digits. Works for me.
Later,
P.S. Excuse me If this was covered already on the list, but since a few of us
just got the PAR card I thought it would help.
